Position Overview

 

dormakaba is seeking a Second Shift (2:00PM – 10:30PM) Material Handler based in Indianapolis, IN. The Material Handler is responsible for processing incoming products, recycling used/scrap raw materials and MRO items per the prescribed methods. As a Material Handler, you will use a variety of material handling equipment to safely and efficiently move materials in support of our operations. The Material Handler will perform a diverse range of tasks, respond to changing business needs, and help ensure our internal customers receive the support they need. Success in this role requires initiative, adaptability, and the ability to think creatively while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and customer service.

 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $18/hr. - $22/hr. and a 1.00 Shift differential and mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). What you will do

 

  • Operate material handling equipment including, but not limited to: Fork Truck, Forklift, Work Assist Vehicle (WAV), Turret Stock Picker (TSP)
  • Ensure appropriate stocking levels are maintained without disruption to customers while partnering with other departments
  • Examine shipments at the time of delivery for damage, and verify the accuracy of information listed on packing slips, invoices, and bills of lading by visually inspecting the boxes, ensuring the accuracy of internal deliveries
  • Complete material movement transactions utilizing Systems, Applications & Products (SAP) software via RF device or computer
  • Pull material parts from bins using a pick list and RF device to fill Transfer Orders (e.g., identify the specific part/lot number, quantity, and locations of all ordered items)

 

What we require

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience communicating effectively within a manufacturing environment
  • Solid Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) experience, or the ability to be certified on such warehouse equipment
  • Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 25 feet

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have good vision with the ability to adjust and focus and use close vision, with or without correction
