Position Overview
As a Mechanical Engineer in a large industrial company, your primary objective will be to design and develop innovative, efficient, and market-driven mechanical systems that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and maintain the company’s technological leadership.
This role requires strong expertise in mechanical design and analysis, cost estimation and control, and the optimization of industrial processes. The successful candidate will ensure that products are designed efficiently, manufactured cost-effectively, and meet high quality standards, while continuously improving systems and minimizing waste.
As part of the Mechanical Engineering team, you will collaborate in a dynamic and innovative industrial environment, working within virtual, distributed agile teams across Germany, Switzerland, Austria, China, Singapore and the USA.
What you will do
- Applies best practices and advanced methodologies, participate in Scrum teams, to address and review technical requirements.
- Review of the results with regard to compliance with the specification, correctness, freedom from errors and compliance with regulations and standards
- Create 2D/3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation
- Development of components ready for serial production and/or further development of existing components. Lead for LCM measures.
- Participates in technical reviews, FMEA’s etc., Value Engineering/Analysis
- Develop accurate cost estimates for new product designs, system modifications, and manufacturing processes
- Perform cost-benefit analyses and evaluate financial impacts of design changes
- Analyze existing operations and propose cost justified improvements
- Collaborates with other teams, such as testing, production engineering, purchasing and product management
What we require
- University degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or a related technical field
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in an industrial company
- In-depth knowledge of CAD software (Solid Works) and common engineering tools
- Excellent English, German will be a plus
- Innovative spirit and ability to develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges
- Data-based problem solving skills: applying data-driven approaches to problem solving
- Understanding of quality assurance processes and standards in the industry
- Cost and customer awareness
- Solid communication and interpersonal interaction skills
