Position Overview

 

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Sofia.

 

This dynamic role blends deep expertise in mechanical design and analysis with cost estimation, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.

 

You will ensure our access solutions products are engineered for performance, manufactured efficiently, and delivered to the highest quality standards.

 

What you will do

 

  • Create precise 2D/3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and comprehensive technical documentation for new components and systems, ensuring readiness for serial production.
  • Develop innovative mechanical components ready for series production and lead the continuous improvement and further development of existing components through structured Life Cycle Management (LCM) measures.
  • Participate actively in Scrum teams, applying best practices and advanced methodologies to review technical requirements and deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
  • Review all results for full compliance with specifications, correctness, regulatory standards, and freedom from errors—upholding our commitment to excellence.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for new designs, modifications, and manufacturing processes; perform cost-benefit analyses to guide smart, financially sound design decisions.
  • Analyze existing operations and propose cost-justified improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and drive measurable business value.
  • Collaborate closely with Testing, Production Engineering, Purchasing, Product Management, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment from concept to production.
  • Lead and contribute to technical reviews, FMEAs, and Value Engineering/Analysis activities to maximize product value, reliability, and manufacturability.

 

 

What we require

 

  • 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or development roles within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • Expert-level proficiency in 2D/3D CAD modeling and creation of production-ready technical drawings.
  • Strong practical experience in cost estimation, cost control, and evaluating the financial impact of design choices.
  • Solid knowledge of production technologies, manufacturing processes, and applicable industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and participating in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills, quality orientation, and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities suited to international, matrix-style organizations.
  • Business fluency in English (written and spoken). German language skills are a significant advantage.

 

What we prefer

 

  • Hands-on experience with Value Engineering, FMEA facilitation, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and structured Life Cycle Management processes.
  • Previous work experience in the building hardware, access control, security solutions, or related technical industries.
  • Exposure to international projects and global cross-functional collaboration.
  • Additional qualifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
